How to automatically generate building models from vector data and publish them as 3D Tiles?

视频介绍

Welcome to the GISBox software.

The following will introduce how to obtain SHP vector data from the map and generate buildings with one click.

First, click on the "Get from Map" in the top tab bar.

In the pop-up map selection box, you can see that the yellow areas on the map represent the building vector data.

You can click the move icon to freely move the selection box, or adjust the size to choose the area.

Alternatively, you can adjust the maximum and minimum latitude and longitude coordinates on the right.

You can also click the "Go to City" button in the upper right corner to select the city vector data.

Click "Import" to obtain the SHP vector data within the selection box.

After successful import, you can preview the selected SHP vector data in 3D mode.

You can switch between modes by clicking the 2D or split-screen icons.

Click "Generate Buildings" in the top tab bar, and in the pop-up window, you can choose the building style you want to generate.

Currently, GISBox supports three building styles: White Model, City, and Hui Style.

After selecting the style and successfully generating the buildings, you can preview the generated buildings in 3D mode.

In 3D mode, you can click the selection icon in the top tab bar or follow the indicator diagram in the lower right corner to select part or all of the buildings.

Then, in the style area on the right, you can adjust the style settings for the selected building models.

Since the current style is City, you can adjust the height range of the building models.

You can switch the selected buildings to the white model style, and change the color of the white model or replace its textures.

And similarly, you can switch to the Hui style as well.

After completing the editing of buildings in the scene, you can click "Export 3DTiles" in the top tab bar.

"Publish as Service" is checked by default. Follow the prompt in the pop-up window to jump to the task list.

Simply wait for the tiling task to complete. After tiling, the files will be automatically distributed as services.

You can directly click the "Service" on the left to view the task list for service, or click the "Jump to Service List" icon in the completed list.

Click "Cesium" in the service list to view the generated building effects.

You can see that there is no terrain during editing in GISBox, but terrain is generated when previewing in Cesium.

If the generated buildings are obscured by terrain, you need to enable terrain during scene editing before generating the buildings.

We will demonstrate this further in later tutorials. Thank you for watching!
